Reading/Grammar We are on the last story in Book 1.1. We will be reading Gus Takes the Train. We will be working on spelling three-letter words, writing adjectives for colors and numbers, segmenting phonemes, and listing synonyms.
Math This week, we will write additions sentences, identify first to sixth place, learn the doubles rap, add doubles, and form shapes on geo-boards. We begin memorizing addition facts. Soon, students will be bringing home two math homework sheets. Our new homework will be math facts.
Intensive Phonics This will be the last week for pronouncing and spelling three-letter words. Spelling the words pronounced will be assessed, during the week.
Religion Books will be sent home on Tuesday to study for a test on Session 3, on Thursday. In this session, we discussed the Bible as God's word and God sending His only Son to us.
Social Studies Books will be sent home on Monday to study Ch. 1-Lessons 1-3, for a test on Tuesday. Read Lessons 1-3 and study highlighted words and definitions.
Science Books will be sent home on Tuesday to study Topic 1-Lesson 1, pgs. 1-11. The assessment will be on Wednesday. Study vocabulary and definitions.
Religion books come back to school on Thursday. Social Studies and Science books come back the next day.
Apples Galore! During the next two weeks, we will learn about Johnny Appleseed and explore apples through a variety of activities. We will end our unit with a crock pot of applesauce.
