Reading We begin our last anthology, book 1.6. Our story is The Dot. We will be working on writing exclamation sentences, counting syllables, changing y to ies at the end of words, and reviewing pronouns.
Math This week, we will identify a half-dozen, measure in feet, add nine to a number, and work with $1, $5, $10, and $20 dollar bills.
Intensive Phonics We will spend the week reviewing all pigpen sounds.
Religion On Monday, we will review unit 4. The unit will be sent home to study for the test on Tuesday.
Science We will be discussing ways in which we use our natural resources and identifying the terms reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Social Studies We begin our last unit. We will discuss Native Americans then and now. We will also create a time line.
Creative Writing We will be working on spring kite writings and bunny helper stories.
WE DID IT!!! First Graders were on a mission to break the current record of books read during the school year. The current fourth grade class held the record at 4029 books read while in first grade. Well, we counted coins on Friday and our total came to 4250!!! We were very excited and I was told that we are not done yet!
