Reading Our anthology story is Where Does Food Come From? We will be spelling words with ay and ai, forming contractions, identifying multiple meaning words, and writing days, months, and holidays.
Math This week, we will be reading a graph, adding 2-digit numbers, making congruent shapes, and grouping by 10's.
Intensive Phonics We will learn Rules #4 and # 5. Rule #4-Silent e at the end of the word, makes the first vowel long. Rule #5-When two vowels are adjacent, the first one is long and the second one is silent. (Ex: make, like, boat, and rain.)
Science We will be identifying different types of land and water.
Social Studies We will be learning the meaning of our country's symbols.
D'Nealian The upper-case letters C, G, O, Q, and S will be assessed.
The Penguins are Coming!!! We will begin our unit on penguins. This week, we will make our penguin folders, Rockhopper headbands, complete an Are/Have/Can chart, and map penguin habitats.
