Junior High Language Arts and Literature

Mr. Dittmer joins an already established and quality Junior High department. He brings with him a diverse and significant background. Mr. Dittmer is one of 8 children from and is of German and Mexican heritage. He spent the summer of his youth working on his family farm or walking beans for local farmers. He joined the United States Army a few months after high school and served honorably for 3 years. He was stationed at Ft. Knox, KY, Ft. Lee, VA, Ft. Bliss, TX and Camp Nimble, Tong Du Chong, Korea (12 miles south of the Demilitarized Zone).
Mr. Dittmer holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southern Illinois In Carbondale, IL and a Masters Degree of Fine Arts, In Acting from Ohio University in Athens, OH. He has appeared on television, film, and stage. However, his passion has always been education. Mr. Dittmer has taught at the collegiate and the high school level. Last year he substituted at TCA throughout the year.
Over the past few years Mr. Dittmer has walked various routes on the Catholic Pilgrimage the Camino De Santiago (Way Of Saint James) through Northern Spain. In 2014 he walked the Camino Frances (500 miles), In 2017 he walked the Camino Primitivo (350 miles) and in 2019 he walked the Camino Portuguese (200 miles). He’s planning on walking the Camino De Norte (550 miles) in the summer 2021.
