First Communion and First Confession Information
Dear Parents: Please review the following points carefully.
Please contact the Parish Office with any questions and concerns.
God Bless You!
Date and Time
Sunday, May TBD at St. Patrick Church in English (10:00am)
Sunday May TBD at St. Hyacinth Church in Spanish (12:15pm)
Children must arrive 15 minutes before mass. Please plan to arrive early. Those unable to attend a First Communion Mass should make arrangements with the parish office to celebrate the First Communion at another Mass.
Attendance:
1st Communion students will be seated with their classmates in reserved pews. Family members are not limited. No reserved pews are available for family members.
Spiritual Preparation
Make time to prepare well! Talk to you children about their First Communion. Talk about your own First Communion, what it will mean to receive Jesus, who they can keep in prayer as they make Communion for the first time.
First Confession:
2026 dates not available at the moment-Holy Rosary Shrine.
Come and make a good Confession with your children.
Dress Code Reminders
Girls: White dress (can be sleeveless, but not strapless), white veil with headpiece, white dress shoes with white socks.
Boys: Shirt (prefer white, long sleeve), dress pants (dark and solid color; no jeans or cargo pants), solid colored tie, dress shoes and socks. White suits can be worn.
Professional Photos
We will have professional photos of each child’s moment of First Communion.
We ask families not to leave their seat for photos during the Mass.
There will be plenty of time after the Liturgy for private photos in the church and church grounds.
First Communion Gifts
Please consider quality gifts that will inspire and interest your child. Many of the inexpensive box-set gifts are not terribly useful. Bibles, Rosaries, and other more adult items that a child will need to “grow into” can help him or her see the seriousness of what it means. It is inspirational to see senior parishioners who still use a Rosary or leather prayer book that they themselves received at their First Communion. The priests will be happy to bless any gifts after the Mass outdoors.
