Sacred Music for the Liturgy at LaSalle Catholic Parishes
Sacred music plays an key role in worship; it adds the expression of sound to the meaning of words. It is commonly said, "One who sings prays twice." The Second Vatican Council emphasized that Gregorian chant is most able to serve that role, since it perfectly expresses the text through music. Nevertheless, much great music has been composed for the liturgy over the course of the Church's history, and it is the goal of the music program at LaSalle Catholic Parishes to explore as much of that music as possible.
