Parish RegistrationParish Membership and BenefitsWe welcome all new families and individuals to the LaSalle Catholic Parishes and encourage registration in the parish as soon as possible. We want to be sure that those who are attending here regularly are registered with our parish. Why is this important?
To be a Godparent or confirmation sponsor, you must be an active Catholic, practicing your faith; this includes being a registered member of a parish. Even if you don’t have anything on your radar for either of these honors, you never know when this occasion may arise. It’s better to be prepared so we know who you are when you need this information. Our parishes cannot issue sponsorship certificate if you are not a registered, active parishioner for at least three months. If you or a family member needs sacramental preparation, we need to know you are here. If you have children, we need your family registered before we can admit them to our Religious Education program. Trinity Catholic Academy families must be active, registered members to be eligible for reduced tuition rates. (TCA families who are registered at other parishes that do not have schools receive reduced rates through their parish.) When admitted to a local hospital one of the things they may ask is if you have a church preference. Registering with LaSalle Catholic Parishes makes it easier for our priest and deacon to help you and your family in this time of need. Many of our communications and publications are public (bulletin, website, Facebook, etc.), but we do have mailings that are parishioner specific. By registering we find out who you are and how you want to be involved in your parish. Being involved is a great way to meet people and really make connections in your Church home. Please don’t assume that if you are putting checks in the collection or were married, baptized, or had your child baptized here that you are a registered parishioner. We never assume your wishes, you do need to complete the form. If you are unsure, contact the parish office. How do you register? You can come by or call the parish office any time we are open. We have the form that you can fill out here or you can download it from our website below. If you aren’t able to complete the form in the office you can mail it, drop it off, put it in the collection, or scan and email it back to the office. |
Please contact Parish Offices at least one month in advance to complete the Baptism Request Form and schedule a date. Parents and Godparents are asked to complete a brief baptism class with one of the priests before the baptism to review the rite. Baptisms are generally held after Saturday and Sunday Masses at each parish. Please see all the details in the Baptism Registration form below. Use special care with choosing Godparents. The choice of the official Godparent is very important to your child and the requirements are set by Canon Law. We cannot make exceptions. Please contact us with any questions we are happy to help.
To setup a Baptism Class time, please contact our office of call one of the priests. |
Confirmation is now being received in the Fall of the students’ Freshman year of High School, rather than during their 8th Grade year. Our Confirmation is typically held in early October at the Cathedral in Peoria. Candidates must be actively practicing Catholics who are properly prepared to receive the Sacrament. They need to complete the 7th and 8th grade religious education program at Trinity (TCA or TCA-RE) and an 9th grade preparation program offered on early autumn. Those students who do not attend an Emmaus Days or Steubenville Youth Conference will also need to complete a Service Project and attend a half day retreat at Holy Rosary Shrine. Confirmation Sponsors need to be chosen carefully! It is an important decision and the qualifications for being a sponsor are set by Cannon Law. We cannot make exceptions. Please contact us with any questions.
